Connecting to QuickBooks Online and Wave, on purpose

You're using manual entry today because that's the fastest way to put a working forecast in your hands. Direct connections to QuickBooks Online and Wave are the next milestone — and we're building them carefully on purpose.

Why manual entry came first

A forecast is only useful if you trust the numbers it's built on. The fastest way to put a working forecast in front of you was a clean manual model — a handful of fields and a starting figure, ready in under ten minutes. Building the automatic accounting connection takes months. Doing it carelessly takes longer than that, and produces forecasts that look right but break the moment you check them against your actuals.

Manual today buys you a real, usable forecast this week. The connection is coming next.

What “connect my books” actually involves

Pulling your numbers automatically isn't just a login. Your chart of accounts is unique to your business — what you call “Subcontractors” might be “1099 Labor” in someone else's books. A forecasting tool that ignores those differences produces numbers that look right and break the moment you trust them.

We're building the layer that handles those differences first — before turning the connection on. That work is what separates an integration that holds up in the real world from one that doesn't.
